IATF 16949:2016 Audit

SPF VD MAIS has successfully passed an external audit for compliance to IATF new standard 16949: 2016. The firm became the first company in Ukraine that has quality management system certified according to the latest international standard for automotive industry.

One of the automotive industry’s most widely used international standards for quality management, ISO/TS 16949, is evolving with the publication of a new global industry standard by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). This latest version was developed with an unprecedented level of industry feedback and engagement by automotive industry worldwide.

ISO/TS 16949, a technical specification for automotive sector quality management systems, has become one of the most widely used international standards in the automotive industry, harmonizing the different assessment and certification systems in the global automotive supply chain.

On October 3rd, 2016 IATF 16949:2016 was published by the IATF and supersedes and replaces the current ISO/TS 16949, defining the requirements of a quality management system for organizations in the automotive industry.

The new standard is still a quality management standard particular to automotive Tier 1 and 2 suppliers as required by the OEM. All IATF subscribing OEMs such as Ford, GM, BMW, Renault, and Peugeot, require all their suppliers to comply with and be certified to ISO/TS 16949 and now to IATF 16949.

IATF 16949:2016 will supersede and replace in 2018 the current ISO/TS 16949, defining the requirements of a quality management system for organizations in the automotive industry. It will be aligned with and refer to the most recent version of ISO’s quality management systems standard, ISO 9001:2015. IATF 16949:2016 will fully respect ISO 9001:2015 structure and requirements. IATF 16949:2016 is not a stand-alone quality management standard, but is implemented as a supplement to, and in conjunction with, ISO 9001:2015.

Starting on October 1, 2017, all new certification audits must be conducted according to the new IATF 16949:2016 and the IATF Rules 5th edition.

According to the Rules SPF VD MAIS passed the audit in November and December 2017 and passed it successfully. The auditor is to issue the certificate in the beginning of 2018 and it is to be posted at Quality System page of VD MAIS corporative web-site.

It is also worth reminding that after a series of certification audits that took place this spring VD MAIS has renewed the certificates of its quality management system conformity to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485.

In particular, to replace the certificate ISO 9001:2008 (received on April 15, 2014, expired on April 14, 2017), certifying the compliance of the company’s quality management system to ISO standards, ISO 9001:2015 (received 15.04.2017, valid until 14.04.2020) was obtained with an emphasis on strategic development, risk management and sustainable development of the enterprise.

In addition to the “environmental” ISO 14001:2004 certificate (received on May 04, 2016, valid until September 14, 2018), new ISO 14001:2015 certificate (received on 05/04/2017, valid until 15/04/2019) was obtained, certifying that the firm’s QMS meets the requirements of the updated standard.

Firm’s ISO 13485:2003 certificate (received on September 27, 2016, valid until September 26, 2013) has been also updated in accordance with new edition of the standard. A new ISO 13485:2016 certificate (valid until 26.09.2020) of the quality management system for manufacturers of medical products and their components has been received.

The ScientificandProduction Firm VD MAIS pays paramount attention to the continuous improvement of the firm’s QMS.
